Walk in a city of water and castle town －Discover the culture and the history of  Morioka

盛岡八幡宮から鉈屋町界隈へ。もりおか町家物語館、大慈清水、東家本店での昼食、岩手銀行赤レンガ館など、水と城下町の記憶が残るエリアを歩き、盛岡の暮らしと文化に触れるコースです。南部鉄器や南部せんべいを通して、地域に受け継がれる手仕事と味わいにも出会います。建物や路地、日々の営みが形づくるまちの風景をたどり、盛岡ならではの物語に触れる一日です。

Begin at Morioka Hachimangu Shrine and continue into the historic Nataya-cho area. Visit Morioka Machiya Story Museum, Daiji Shimizu Spring, Azumaya Honten for lunch, and the Bank of Iwate Red Brick Building as you walk through an area shaped by water and castle-town history. Encounters with Nambu Ironware and Nambu sembei offer further insight into the region’s enduring crafts and food culture. This walking excursion follows the streets, architecture, and everyday traditions that tell Morioka’s distinctive story.
